WHY MY ART CLASSES ARE DIFFERENT

The creative part of the brain is responsible for many crucial things like attention, emotions, memory and problem solving. Developing these skills are essentials to live a happy life.

Studies show a child retains information twice as much when it's of interest, fun, visually stimulating, hands on and rewarding.

NOTE: Each curriculum is an appropriate level for each child then modified to each individuals skill- no skills needed.

10 week curriculum for year 3-6

Week 1-
SELF PORTRAIT
Students are asked to draw a self portrait.
This is to document the skill level they start with.

Week 2-
SHADOWS AND 3D OBJECTS

Drawing a cube and learning how the light and shadows turns it into a 3D object. Taught how to use a kneadable eraser to achieve the same outcome.
This is a fundamental skill needed for drawing.

Week 3-
FACIAL FEATURES

Students are taught to draw different types of cartoon noses, eyes and mouths.

Week 4-
COLOUR MIXING + $5 for materials.

1 colour will be given to the students to learn how to change the tint. To make the colour lighter. They will learn how to hold the paintbrush properly and how to clean it.
Each student will then get to make a colour, name it and take it home.
